thx for the thread and forum comment but the smiley could have a bigger smileOriginally posted by Gedanken:Interesting thread and forum.
Anyway, I favour fountain pens. When I write with a ballpoint it comes out like chicken scratchings, and when I write with a fountain pen it comes out like artistic chicken scratchings. Right now I rotate between three fountain pens:
- Waterman Phileas
- Waterman Laureat
- Mont Blanc (LeGrand, I think - it was a gift)
The Phileas is the cheapest of the three, but because it's a medium-point unlike the other two fine-points, I like using it the best. A Parker Duofold's now on my to-get list.
The one ballpoint I do hang on to is a Cross Classic Century 14K - it's a bit of a family tradition to have one of those.
that model got 0.38 meh?Originally posted by finoq:errhm..!
but 0.7 comes in only a few colours (3 i think)
while 0.38 comes in 15 (or 14) colours
and 0.28 comes in 11 colours
0.28 IS the one that's like chicken feet scratchin'...
my mother said it was like goin to scratch through the paper, she didn't dare use it
I find it very useful, esp to squeeze small handwriting into very small spaces...but i have to admit it's also kinda thin for my preferances
sry woz toking about Signo DX...Originally posted by shinta:that model got 0.38 meh?
thot only 0.5 n 0.7

U must be used to really smooth pens if u think ballpoint pens are rough...
And u rotate between THREE fountain pens
I have a Waterman ball pen...dunno wad's it called...but good quality...lasting longer than any other ball pen that i have...still in good condition
uni shaiaku 0.5..Originally posted by finoq:sry woz toking about Signo DX...
0.28 does scratch paper
about Laknock...there is a pencil version of it rite or not?
it's smooth yes but i still prefer 0.5...and duznt beat waterman
fountain pens n shinta cannot go together...Originally posted by Gedanken:Point taken!
I use the Mont Blanc mainly as an accessory - it's the most presentable of the three. The problem is that the ink flow sucks - a number of friends have had similar problems. When you start writing, it takes about half a centimetre of writing before the ink reached the tip of the nib.
The Watermans, on the other hand, are absolutely lovely - they travel across the paper smoothly and have absolutely no flow problems.
around forty cents per one got green red blue and blackOriginally posted by finoq:um. how much does one of them cost?
u mean the red leaf?Originally posted by Puremilk28:around forty cents per one got green red blue and black
so expensive!!!Originally posted by finoq:btw anyone here uses a pen called
PILOT Parallel Pen
Costs like $8.00++
I may put a pic of it here soon
well, it's a calligraphy pen, Pilot put a lot of research in it(I think), and the most important(and fragile) part of it is the Nib, consisting to two parallel plates, where ink flows through from them. When two of these pens are used, one can also transfer ink to the other, causing the pen to write in slowly changing colours.Originally posted by shinta:so expensive!!!
It's a pity that I have no uniball eyes. I actually wanted to buy one after my Violet G2, but then the set of uniball signo DX came outOriginally posted by stellazio:uniball eye.damnit i can't believe i'm still using the same one pen for 1 year..
