Interesting stuff! Now, what would have happened if the "tu" dragon wasn't destroyed? hmm..Originally posted by LinYu:Interest information regarding the forbidden city. According to the tour guide.
Forbidden city was built in accordance to the feng shui formation. It had its building in accordance to the five element. The center structure of was shape to a "tu" formation. A river was dug across the palace to represent the river across. There were 2 "dragons" represented by the road and river. Due to the demise of the "tu" dragon, the Ching dynasty also demised. With the death of the "tu" dragons, the new government centre was built on the water dragon beside the forbidden city.
According to the story, Chairman Mao wanted to enter the forbidden city. but before he could enter, he tripped and nearly fall. The caretaker stopped him from entering telling him that he "the little dragon" (born in the year of snake) was not allowed otherwise misfortune will befall him. haha, that's quite something!Originally posted by LinYu:according to the book. Mao was not supposed to have read the Sun Zi Art of War but he applied the strategy fully "to win without a fight"
During the civil war, the enemy soldier beat a retreat. as they will have to go thru his village, they were afraid the soldiers will pillage the village. so he form a troop with few policeman with 2 or 3 rifles and the student soldiers with wooden pratice rifles and some fire crackers. They took position and when the enemies arrived, the shoot a few shot into the air and lighted the fire crackers. They shouted at the enemies and told them to surrender and down arms. The enemies thought there were alot od soldiers and surrendered.
Someone asked him asked how he was sure the enemies will surrender. What if they decided not to surrender. wouldn't all the students soldiers died. He confidently said that he was sure they would surrender due to their morale otherwise the enemies would have charged in immediately.
