i am seeing alot of threads on odex... saying how bad it is etc etc....
So why not come out with an Odex improvement thread!?
Rules:
1. Can be imaginary
2. You can DUN take into account of the japanese companies and Odex resources or their limited technology
3. No Flaming of Odex
4. Nothing stupid like them commiting suicide or closing down
5. This is purely a have fun thread. Sit back and think of possible scenarios that can happen with Odex.
6. It does not need to follow the boundaries of Singapore and Japanese LAW
7. Does not have to be realistic
We shld use our rich imagination to come up with possible scenarios that will allow continued exposure of high quality anime (may not be free), yet not hurt our relationships between anime fans, Odex and Japan.
Alrighty let me get the ball rolling:
Ichi: Hey this is the age of satellite TV!! why cant Odex broadcast a Pay to Watch channel directly via satellite or even have their very own cable channel. Of course, the anime must be up to date, maybe just 1-2 months time lapse from the actual airing in Japan. They must make it afforfable too like $20-30 per mth.
Ni: Since they ARE taking fansubs to fuel their anime VCDs, why not set up an Odex Fanbase where they employ Singapore Anime Fanbase to do up the Fansubs for them. They let us download RAW anime and the fanbase do up their subtitiles and translation for them.
Alright man keep the BALL rolling, i will continue to imput too!!
I be concise here.
1:Japanese companies would refuse to do that unless odex is willing give them some mega sized incentive. Odex wont take the effort too.
2: Same thing. Japanese companies wont allow odex to do that. And odex wont take the effort too. Fans wont do that shit too.
3: $3~5 per episode is consider cheap compared to R2 Dvds. If you want DVDs for the latest anime series for example gurren lagann, 3~4 episodes would cost at least $40~60.
Kthx.
Its impossible to watch japanese anime legally on time if you arent living in japan.
The only solution now is for the japs to launch VOD on a global scale.
But apparently, the japs are skeptical of doing so.
Unless they start acting on that, nothing is going to change.
Distributing anime through physical methods aint gonna work anymore.
