Okay, the entire agony here is that.
1) Idiots in HWZ refuse to see downloading anime as a wrong thing. And feels that odex is wrong in this case.
2) Bunch of retardeds in HWZ are screaming and shouting that Odex keeps the 3.5~5k money they pay them. And they are doing this just for the sake of money. Some idiot is even relating this to the NKF Saga.
3) Anime fans feels that its correct to insult and ridicule stephen sing through baseless assumptions. But when stephen sing made a casual comment about he enjoyed sueing people. He is SOOOO WRONG.
WTF? I agree that the xysing post was totally uncalled for and in a way its bloody arrogant. And extremely un professional.
And their lousy quality mayb one of the reason that lead us not wanting to buy their dvd/vcd titles.
And issuing charges against teenagers and even primary school kids may be a pretty drastic measure to solve matters like this.
But the biggest joke here is that, everybody is pushing the blame to odex.
No one would post something like "Hey i dled the anime, and what i did was illegal, its partly my fault in this way"
NO ONE!!

They still don't get it that RIAA-style on Singaporeans won't work. By the way, for the curious, RIAA is fighting a losing battle in the US. Computer experts are there to testify that the RIAA is doing something very wrong.

To some pple it can be justified if they cannot get that quality of subs from odex or elsewhere. giving a more extreme example to make it clear, take a video and send it to 2 places to sub. you get 2 videos 1 with lousy and near incoherent subs and poor video quality, the other is one with at least passable quality and english. assume the 1st is odex. and the other is your fansub. some pple would say because odex does not give you quality that the other side gives, it is ok to d/l the other one. in essense, because of the quality difference the become 2 totally different products even if the license might technically be the same.Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:Okay, the entire agony here is that.

Again IMO their chances are bleak.
And even if they win the case. It does not prove that downloading anime is wrong.
It only proves that the way Odex and Tvtokyo handle this particular problem is wrong.
At the end of the day, downloading anime will still be illegal and it might even get stricter. -
