But vPost Japan is worth a good look to start at.
Well...I'm halfway there.Originally posted by LazerLordz:As you can see..this is the crux of the issue.
I may be following Master's path out soon as well.. this nation, though I love her, is not large nor forgiving enough to raise kids in the future..
Definitely not HWZ at the moment.Originally posted by LazerLordz:go and join a forum and get more kakis!
I remember watching Evangelion in '96.Originally posted by CoolMyth:Definitely not HWZ at the moment.
And I dun have a wide range of animes to chase from. I only watch one at a time.
The number of animes I have watched so far can be counted on two hands.
So, I'm not very hardcore yet as you can see.
The only one I watched then in 96 was Doraemon.Originally posted by LazerLordz:I remember watching Evangelion in '96.
Yeah, funny isn't it..Originally posted by CoolMyth:The only one I watched then in 96 was Doraemon.
And I only realised that is classified as an anime only recently.
Maybe someone can do a thesis of "The Evolution of Animes in Japan".Originally posted by LazerLordz:Yeah, funny isn't it..
Well. I actually asked odex how many actually refuse to pay up.Originally posted by CoolMyth:Though I wish, I won't bet on that.
In a way, I'm kinda preparing myself to receive that Registered Mail of Doom one day in the near future, one year later? Two years later?
Remember, they have already got hold of a few thousand accounts of those who download anime illegally. From Singnet, and today Starhub, soon Pacific Internet.
How many have received that mail and have paid up? Definitely not all of them.
Does this thing has a time period / deadline to catch people? Definitely not, as far as I know.
If they find it such an effective way to get so much money (Though I do not know how much they spent), what's stopping them from re-using this information to catch these same people later?
Interesting. That's really informative information (Sorry for lack of Engrish) right there.Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:Well. I actually asked odex how many actually refuse to pay up.
And they say up till 21st july. Only 4 has decided to go into court case with them.
And it takes relatively a long time for court cases to end.
So we shall now sit back relax and see what happens.
According to odex:
TV TOKYO does not want to bring this up to court for some reason.
I dunnoe what exactly.
Well but i believe the japanese companies are smart in handling issues.
And they definately have their reasons for it.
*copy and paste city of possibilities quote again*Originally posted by CoolMyth:Interesting. That's really informative information (Sorry for lack of Engrish) right there.
Maybe we already can start to sit back and see how.
But then again, that's like, the only thing we can do. This is Singapore.
registered mail. so thoughtful of them.Originally posted by CoolMyth:The only method that we see now, and most likely the only method, is the "Registered Mail of Doom".
They will send you a registered mail, serving you the notice to go meet them to settle this issue and "reimburse" them for their hard work in finding and notifying you.
Since it's a registered mail, everything is recorded down and you can't say you didn't receive the letter and therefore dun turn up for the meeting.
No warning letter, nadda. Zip, Zero.

This is one of the most stupid thing to say.Originally posted by Simontay78:I just got to know about this yesterday in the RSS news about Starhub just got the court order to release customer information to Odex.
I thought it's the first time they did this! Wow, now then I know they did it before via Singnet too!
Hey, let's starts a new company and license these titles and start sending the registered letter of doom! It's incredible the court allow this to happen. It's going to be more such cases in future.
How about registering Japanese porn titles? Hmmm the news will be front page news to have 1 million SG receiving letter of doom mostly guys...
Haiz, my friend kanna that letter long time ago...I will go check out with him...what's happening now.
From what he did, it was quite unprofessional of him to talk about his issues at work when his company tried to issue a gag order on the downloaders.Originally posted by Gordonator:Mr Sing now scare liao.
Its a good chance for him to do his PR now, to show the whole Singapore that he is being threatened for doing the right thing, that is catching all the downloaders.Originally posted by LazerLordz:From what he did, it was quite unprofessional of him to talk about his issues at work when his company tried to issue a gag order on the downloaders.
