Well, look for the Japanese agents for those anime series that you want. They will have their own localised distributors as well, be it in any city.Originally posted by gobez14:hmm direct import from whr? good quality? hmmi m interested LL care to tell more?

It's the lack of a Data Protection Act here that is the issue.Originally posted by seow:If they can can singnet on their side, i don't see why not, somewhat shows the connections they have.
rendering assistance to law enforcement, governmental or regulatory agencies; or complying with any applicable laws or any order of court. This says it all. It does not state rendering assistance to these agencies limited to a subpoena or a court-issued injunction.
it means they can give your info to singnet and then singnet can sell the hubber's asses to odex ofr odex to make a quick profitOriginally posted by Sagara:Went to the Starhub site and i must say that i'm not optimistic about receiving any protection at all.

Well, what do you guys think ?
If you dont know anything shutup.Originally posted by Ayukat:I've been reading lots and lots and lots of blogs and forum all these time.
And now I am wondering, how does Odex actually tracks people?
There has been instances of people getting fined for incomplete torrents, like they download till 85%, then they delete away, and they got fined for the episode they did not download finish. This makes me come to the conclusion that Odex is not doing packet scanning. We all know how Bittorrent works, random bits and bytes are downloaded and pieced together like a puzzle. And if they are using packet scanning to track people down, the bits and bytes coming in and out would be worthless data anyway.
So my speculation would be they are camping on torrents, grab a few random IP Address, then complain to the ISP.
Of course, another way would be monitoring the traffic, which I doubt the ISP let them do so generously, as many other confidential data are also at risk. And they would lose too many customers if too many people are caught.
What do you think?
