Gone were the times where they were multiple fansubbers subbing a popular anime series...
Do you agree?
Nowadays most anime only get 1 fansubber only... we don't even get a choice to choose which is better.

Because eventually everything gets licensed before the anime ends its run on TV.
Few want to start on something they foresee not-wanting to finish because of licensing...
That's what I think. -

Mooku has one good point...
Another reason is despite the time spent on a project, they were usually sneered at for any errors in their subbing...
Moreover, if they areslower for one episode, they will be scolded by the fans of the anime as if they are paid to do it... and yeah they arent pay to do it
Somemore sometime we work so hard, than all we get are what took you guys so long...not even a word of thank...
And usually they have other commitment like schoolwork... no point starting on a project that you cant concentrate on finishing or too busy to even start....
And yeah...sometime is due to the fact that there are way too many anime, if all the fansub group were to focus on those more popular anime, what about the older ones the ones that are being overlooked...
And yeah, usually new translators get very crude remarks by "fans" at their first try and cause the lost in confidence thus the drop in the amount of translator....(I seen many translator stop translating after many bad remarks that arent even helpful to improve them...no one is perfect...bet these "fan" are genius)
And yeah, even if you have the translators, you still need many other crews in the group...without any of them, you wont be able to get a good quality sub...and someone will grumble about it again
Be thankful you still have any fansub group left

Aniwae... funni ting is whenever a popular series is licensed Gundam SEED Destiny/FMA for example, the some fansubbers will stop subbing coz they say they received letters...
But... it is always these fansubbers that claim they received letters... form those "underground" Example : HaroTori, Spoon, fansubbing grp and continue subbing...
Haiz... I realli want to watch Death note, Eureka 7, Zegapain blah blah blah... but no good fansubber... sian 1/2...
Aone dropping Naruto somemore... SD Project dunno will do Naruto after Shipuden get licensed or not... if not end up like Bleach liao... all lousy lousy fansubber... sian 1/2.... -

and yeah they form those "underground" group so that they will not cause any problems to the original fansub group and still able to fufil the needs of the fan...
No fansubbers is good at the start, they eventually get better from good critics by the fans and the continuous subbing...
sorry if I sound fed up...but just be nice to those new/weaker fansub group... they might become one of the best in the future... -

shinsen i'm thankful they continued the enidng part of prince of tennis. i really hope some other fansub can do pot besides saizen. not sure is it becuz their slow or the anime is just being released slowly..
lunar and eclipse is quite good too. but lunar tends to be slower then most, so they end up losing the majority of the fanpie. -
