Anyone feels that anime movie is just like another filler?

Do anyone feels the same way as me as in an anime movie of a manga title is just like another filler if it's own anime television series is still ongoing?
usually these movies do not add in much new details or developments to the main anime series. which in my opinion is just like a longer filler episode.
only exception maybe is the Full Metal Alchemist movie, which carry off where the story left off in the anime series. -
I don't think the 2 naruto movies are fillers, I don't think GITS 1 and 2 are fillers either.

i don't think initial D stage 3 is a filler also.

well, for Cowboy Bebop, it was supposed to be in between a couple of episodes...
where both the series and the movie could have stood on their own, it does show where the series starts to turn really dark and melancholic... where the characters start to question their path in life..
and with that, the series came to that inevitable end... -
