  one of my favorite early anime which i watched the the 90s.
  
  Also known as Mobile Police Patlabor, The story is set in the not-so-distant future where robots called "Labors" are employed in heavy construction work.
  
  To properly police the streets, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police has its own arsenal of such robots called Patlabors (Patrol Labors) to combat crimes and accidents involved with such giant robots.

  1 of the most realistiic anime mecha had....my fave also
