Williams made their testing debut at the Italian circuit of Vallelunga on Tuesday, with Antonio Pizzonia and European Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx at the wheel of the FW27.
The BMW-powered squad chose Vallelunga for this weekÂ’s session due to its similarities to the Monaco street circuit, where the next round of the Formula One world championship will take place.
Pizzonia focussed on general set-up and Michelin tyre work, while Priaulx, in only his second test outing with the team, worked on cooling and starts, an area that has been causing Williams a few problems this season.
Between them, the pair completed close to 900 kilometres, Pizzonia going slightly quicker with a 57.664 to PriaulxÂ’s 58.624. Williams continue testing at Vallelunga on Wednesday, with Mark Webber taking over from Priaulx. - Formula1.com
