the ring was worn a few times only. of course if u sell the diamond back to the jeweller, they will buy it at a low price, because they have to ship it overseas and cannot sell it at their local outlet (as it will cause their credibility to drop.people dont want to buy second hand diamonds at first hand price) that's why i'm selling here, to target certain groups of people:1. people who are looking for a specific grade of diamond (every diamond is very different. e.g. it may have higher clarity but lower colour. it's not easy to find the perfect combination that you want)
2. those who are looking to pamper their loved ones but do not have enough budget. though this is second hand, it looks brand new. when you wear it out, no one will be able to tell the difference.

sorry, i don't mean to derail your sale here. all that you mentioned about grade, cut, shine is true. my apologies.
i know a gold/diamond broker. i think he will be able to assess and give you a fair price. i offloaded my gold wedding gifts to him earlier this year when gold price hit a high. i did my homework and checked what goldsmiths outside offer was and what his offer was, and his is much better. so now, i only deal with him directly.
he was the one who told me that prominent shops selling diamond here make in excess of 100% margin on every sale, some times more. now you know why they can sign mediacorp artiste left, right, centre.
dun worry, he is not my relative nor do i get a commission from him. just offering my help here.
if you want his contact, pm me and i can give u his contact. he comes to your home and if you are happy with his price, he pays you cash.
you are of course not obliged to sell him. you may just want to check with him on the market situation so you know he is giving you a fair deal.

mmmmm, i told only half a story. if you know his background, you won't want to mess with him. dun get me wrong, he is no gangster, but all i would publically say is he is best left alone. nice guy if one knows him, avid golfer and family man.
