This is how I usually bake it for the family. I don't like bread pudding but the kids do ....
Ingredients
1 loaf of bread
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla essence or flavour
How To:
Cut bread into smal pieces and soak it in milk.
Beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla essence
Add the bread mixture and mix well.
Bake it at about 180C for 25 mins or till pudding is golden brown.
Let it stand till cool before you cut and serve the pudding.
If you don't find the recipe too sweet (I don't like sweet stuff), you may add condensed milk.
