Ingredients:
2 tsp of ginger strips(sliced first, then cut into long thin strips)
1 tbsp of cooking oil
5 stalks of Kai Lan vegetables, separate stalks from leaves
200 g of beef(striplion or chuck tender) cut into strips
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp cooking wine(or ang moh brandy--also can)
1 tsp corn starch
1 tsp Worcestire sauce or HP Sauce
1 tsp sugar
To marinate:
Add beef, 1 tsp ginger strips, sesame oil, cooking wine, corn starch, Worcestire sauce and mix in a bowl. Leave inside the fridge for half an hour.
cooking method:
1. Boil a pot of hot water to cook the kai lan stalks for 5 minutes.
2. Sieve and discard water.
3. in a frying pan or wok, heat cooking oil.
4. add the rest of the 1 tsp ginger strips, stir fry for 1 min.
5. add marinated beef.
6. stir fry for 2 mins, add 2 tbsp of water to it.
7. then add kai lan leaves and cooked/boiled stalks. Stir fry for 2 mins.
8. add the sugar, stir fry just to mix it.
9. turn off heat. serve on a plate with toasted onions sprinkled on top.
