To wrap the kue, you will need 30 pieces of banana leaves, each measuring about 8X10cm - wash , wipe and steam to soften them.
For the filling it's the same as kue kochi kuah.
For the rice dough:
2 cup glutinous rice flour
230g grated coconut (without skin) - add 3/4 cup water and extract equal amount of milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
Method:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix to form a dough
Take a piece of banana leaf, brush some cooking oil over it, place a small lump of dough in the middle and flatten. Put a ball of filling in the centre and wrap the dough around filling. Bring the two lenght of the leaf towards the centre so that one overlaps the other, and tuck the two ends under. Repeat till all the dough is used up.
To cook: Steam for 20 minutes
