Heard starting fm 21 March....
SINGAPORE: The Land Transport Authority (LTA) on Tuesday (Mar 8) announced it will extend the operating hours of Full-Day Bus Lanes by three hours.
From Mar 21, the lanes will operate from 7.30am to 11pm, the LTA said in its press release. Previously, the operating hours ended at 8pm.
The LTA said this will help shorten travel times for commuters during late evening periods.
There are 23 kilometres of such lanes which operate on weekdays and Saturdays, excluding public holidays, and they are mainly located in the city centre.
Separately, the agency said it will implement the Bus Priority Box, also known as the Mandatory Give Way to Buses scheme, at two bus stops along Orchard Road. This is part of a six-month trial to evaluate its usefulness at bus stops without bus bays, it said.
The bus stops are opposite Mandarin Orchard and Midpoint Orchard. There are currently 332 bus stops with Bus Priority Boxes since it was first introduced in 2008, LTA said.
It added that it will use the findings of this six-month trial to determine if the scheme should be applied for similar bus stops in other locations.

SINGAPORE - The operating hours of full-day bus lanes - those marked in red - will be extended to 11pm from March 21, up from 8pm now.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Tuesday (March 8) that there are 23km of full-day bus lanes which operate from 7.30am to 8pm on weekdays and Saturdays. They are located mainly in the city centre.
Separately, two bus stops along Orchard Road will be included in the Mandatory Give Way to Buses scheme from March 21. They are the first set of bus stops without bus bays in the city that will have this priority scheme, in which motorists have to give way to buses pulling out of bus stops.
One is opposite Mandarin Orchard (bus stop number 09037), and the other is at Midpoint Orchard (bus stop number 09038).
The LTA will determine within six months of implementation the usefulness of this scheme at bus stops without bus bays and whether it should be applied for similar bus stops in other locations.
Since 2008, the Mandatory Give Way to Buses scheme has been rolled out to 332 bus stops.
Please note !
The new bus Bus Priority Box is on 2nd left lane hor , not left most lane
It is a design waiting for accidents to happen !!!
So for those looking for paid holidays, u know what to do !
Really waste of time all tis
Which smart alec come up wit tis idea?
These days LTA really up catching drivers that enter bus lanes during peak hours. I kena 2 tickets ($260) recently at 5+ at rural areas from dotted changed to bus lane for 15 metres then change back to dotted (the kind similar to Clementi central taxi stand).
Also remember to give way to buses (coming out from bus stops) at Stevens Road. Every day sure got 1 LTA officier standing there with a camera all the way till night. Sometimes got 2-3 officers parked there.
1 ticket = more than 1 week of food groceries gone.
with tis implementation, plaza sing bo kang tao leow

Still got lah.....drive behind and queue at the taxi stand.
I think LTA decided to extend till 11pm because many taxi drivers queued up there after 8pm instead of at Plaza Sing taxi stand.
Aiyo, think about your children, your wife, your aunties, uncles, father, mother.......
When they take bus home (LJ than take taxi), will be faster, so they won't ask you cum and pick them.......
Bus drivers are not only captain of the roads, LTA is gettting them cheaper and faster. There are times when express buses are faster than taxi during peak traffic jams. There was one time I sent my wife to MBS from Jurong East during morning peak hours and her colleague taking express bus 502 from Jurong East reached MBS almost the same time. I think we need taxi lanes.

This one is an impossible to realize dream. LTA thinks this way.....taxi maximum affect 4 persons...bus affects 50-100 people....so got priority as it is 50-100 people's productivity gone if delayed. Taxi and cars pay same COE and ERP and take almost same number of people, If got special taxi lane, other car owners would KPKB.
Taxi have taxi stands at some areas so that would not obstruct other vehicles when picking up customers.
I also kena tickets at bus lanes and a ticket at bedok north for not giving way to bus, cannot recall incident so just pay. Recently also kanna ticket for parking near loading bay to rush to toilet during cny when there are no vehicles there, explained to lta officer when i saw the officer thot ok then summon still came. Appealed but still must pay. Haha drive long hours siam tart-chia, siam kar-chia, siam seow-chia, siam long-chia, siam radar shoot-chia, siam bus-stop cameras hip-chia next time siam wah-chia.
Even our dead cannot rest in peace.
Every 20 years our columbarium and cemetery need to shift.
In life we live in pigeon holes, in death we get buried side by side. Those who are cremated have to RIP in even smaller pigeon holes.
