Please refer to the Notice of Traffic Offence served on me dated 15 November 2015.
Brief Facts of the Accident
2 On (date) there was a chain collision involving FOUR vehicles, namely, ( ). On the material day of the accident there was a heavy downpour along the Pan Island Expressway and visibility was affected by the heavy rain.
3. I wish to appeal against the traffic summon against me for the following reasons:
(a) Brake was not effective.
I wish to state that upon seeing the front vehicle (registration no.) came to halt along the PIE, i applied brake but my vehicle (registration no.) continued to move forward until it collided with the front vehicle (registration no.). Prior to that, i had maintained a safe distance between the front vehicle and my vehicle. I was at all time traveling within the road speed limit of 90 km/hr.
(b) Lack of thorough police investigation
To the best of my knowledge, the vehicle i was driving was not tow back to Traffic Police for investigation. As such the Police cannot rule out mechanical fault instead of human's error or omission as the cause of the accident. I also observed that the Investigation Officer did not record a long statement from me. It is possible that no statements were recorded from all parties involved.
(c) Relevant and Admissible Evidence
I am instructed that the damages to the front of my vehicle and the other taxi show that while i had exercised proper lookout and applied brake before the collision, the other taxi driver failed to do so. As a result the damages to the front of the other taxi were far more intensive and extensive (see photos attached).
(d) Compassionate grounds
As a result of this accident i had to pay cash of $2040 towards the insurance claim by the driver of the first car. Additionally i suffered loss of income from not able to drive my taxi for (number of days). I humbly submit that this is sufficient punishment for me.
(e) Clean driving record
Prior to this accident I have maintained a clean driving record since I obtained my driving license on 7 May 1996.
For the reasons highlighted above, I sincerely implore you to consider withdrawing the summon against me. For any clarification i could be contacted via mobile number 9695 8777.

This letter is guaranteed not to work. You think the TP are a bunch of primary school kids?
Point a: If you had maintained a safe driving distance, it means will not hit the car in front. If you did hit the car in front despite hard braking, that means you failed to maintain a safe driving distance.
No point going through point b-e: If I was the TP, straight away throw the letter into dustbin.

Hi guys, anybody have any experience or friends that got a court case based on driving under disqualified driving? Previous offence for disqualification is due to late renewal of road tax and insurance that lead to disqualified for 1 year.
Now got caught while routine check by tp. Anybody face such issue before can advise as 1 of my friend is very kan jiong on it already. Court date have been fixed for him. Or any good traffic lawyer to introduced?

Wat late renewal. Should be driving without a valid road tax and without insurance. Higher fines and licence kan tong lor.

His previous offence is late renewal in insurance in road tax alr tio license kantong for 1 year liao. But during the 1 year disqualification he got caught for driving again due to routine check not due to accident or what. But no previous drink driving offence. That y i say he got caught while driving under disqualification. Anybody familar with this matter or have friend recently tio and alr got his sentence alr? @need urgent advise. Thanks

Thanks a bunch for the information but it seems like under s64 of the rta, it state that its either a fine, a jail or both. But i am thinking that since this is the 1st offence of driving under disqualification and no history of drink driving, my friend is hoping that it will just be a heavy fine and probably additional ban on driving and not jail term. Any people have the similar circumstance on this care to share and advise as my friend is quite kanjiong on this. Thanks

For driving taxi during disqualificaton if kena caught is heavier than pte car
I think its 5k fine ...

Disqualification for Taxi driving is at time a blessing in disguise, otherwise, the driver keep wanting to drive taxi only, and thinking that no drive taxi will die, so, if disqualified, it can help him to change for the better, for taxi driving is hardwork, tio fark, tio complain, tio OBK job, but still many likes, like some women, like to get tight up and beaten...yuck

If he is union member maybe can go ask them to appeal on his behalf. From what I have been told, if your TDVL is not renewed for more than a year, it will be deemed null and void. In his case he is disqualified for 2 years, so go do your calculations.

I am because I go train as casket driver, and why I go learn and train, because my point left only 2 points, so bo bian, die die also must find one more job to standby...so in a way, this 2points left make me go find new skill, new way of earning my food...then after 2 years, clear record, I come back partime as TD...guai guai and slowly liao.
