1. Yellow and Red dotted bus lane cannot stop to pick up and drop passenger correct?
2. If your taxi happen to stop inside the yellow/red dotted bus lane stopping there waiting for traffic to move, then a passenger board the taxi or a passenger wants to drop off, what do you do?

i rather avoid bus lane during operation hours

Secondly, look around you, see if got LTA ah neh or ah mat holding a camera.
Thirdly, make a decision, if all the above is negative, take the pax, if all the above or one of the above is positive..abort the picking, tell the pax to fark off.
By right is cannot stop there one....so you have to take the risk and bear the fine if caught by LTA law enforcement officers doing so.
For customers wanting to alight there, you could tell them it is bus lane and you cannot stop there as you would have to pay a huge fine if caught.
For customers flagging you to stop, you ask yourself whether it is worth it to risk having to pay the fine to earn a few dollars to at most $20+ dollars. Remember most of the times, there are other customers in front that you could fetch within 5-10 minutes.
Also remember, the bulk of our public buses have cameras too and even though you see behind no buses coming, the picking up time may take longer than you expected and a bus could just come from behind and take a picture of your taxi blocking them even though there may not be any LTA enforcement officers around.
Topic is dotted bus lane and not bus lane or bus stop... So it's ok to take pax so long as not within bus lane ( during operational time) or 6 or 9 meter within bus stop..

My understanding is dotted bus lanes are counted the same as bus lanes as far as stopping to pick up passengers is concerned so it is prohibited. The only difference is vehicles that are going to turn into the street around the corner could enter to do so. At least this is what I learned from the course we took before we sat for the taxi license examination.
Anyone was told differently about dotted bus lanes?
yes dotted lines is bus lane, example whole road during bus lane operating hours is bus lane , dotted or continous.
dotted is for the purpose of telling u that u can filter in early to make a left turn, but sometimes cheng hu very kiam siap , draw a little bit of dotted only
continous line is like a land mine , intrude into it and u are on candid camera
No, I don't allow pax to suka suka alight from my cab last time.......
Especially like those pax going to Bugis Junction type, before cross junction waiting for green light, suddenly want to alight, Nabey, want to save ERP but shoot limpek go pay ERP myself, cannot turn right liao mah, if you know which cross junction I referring to......
Than I got a very bad habit, when driving empty on the road, I will lock all the doors de, so impossible for any farker suka suka jump in my cab.......
I take cab only twice last year. Even before I had a driving license or own a car, i was those who mrt, bus and walk everywhere, even to joo koon circle when there was no mrt station. My favourite is the bus because i just drop the minimum fare and watch out for inspector. He up bus, I straight debus.
When i was in USA or Holland, my favourite was their mrt. I just jumped across the fare gate. Never bothered buying tickets.
That was a long long time ago when i was a really poor student. Nowadays I pay for everything. Recently also realised the value of property agents. Getting them to run around and asking for so much info, i think its fair to pay them commission afterall.
Coming back to taxi, its strange but i always feel pity for the driver. Must pay them in full, cannot just run road.
