Due to health issue my day relief decided to quit taxi driving
we partner together comin 4yrs liao
Really sad to lose a gd colleague hope he recovers well
I posted in cdg portal almost more than a week liao not even a single sms or call leh
Now my carpark got 3 i40 hirers looking for relief including me
2 looking for day n 1 for nite
One 5mths n another one 6mths liao looking lol
n me 1 week nia wahaha
One of the hirer who is looking for nite relief offer me to drive for him
meaning I give up my cab n be he's nite relief
We both stay same blk n I know him afew yrs ago wen he was a newbie
He wanted to be my relief back then but tat time I already had a relief
I told him i just posted in portal n I'll wait for a while b4 making a decision
But I know he "really" wants me to drive for him lol iam sure he would hv observe my character all tis while happy go lucky type haha
Currently my frn n my permanent Sunday relief are helping me to drive half day or few hrs in the morning here n there bcoz both of them are holding a fulltime job
Looking at long term I don't think tis pattern can wrk la
But my frn say since iam looking for a "day" relief my chances are high bcoz most prefer to drive day than nite....
I don't wish to be a omo or do split shifts
Driving day also out bcoz I will melt lol never drive day b4
Now stuck n thinking wat to do next
Give up n be relief? Or tong for a mth n wait for miracle call lol
Didn't know relief so much in demand now

Day relief should be easy to get.... few months ago I had to change hirer because of some matters.... it took me more than 4 months to find a not-so-good-timing full-time day relief position and I had to fill in the slots as part-time weekend relief for months.
The hirer I got told me that 3 other person enquired for the same day relief position.... but then I am located in hot district Bukit Panjang which may be different from Telok Blangah.
Join Facebook "Singapore Taxi Driver Hirer - Relief Matching" to reach out to more people on top of advertising at
Comfort Portal.
One other way is to make a personal trip to Citicab Training center during lunch time to ask those who are attending course there at level 4 whether they like to start off as a relief driver.
Comfort somehow managed to make most of the newbies sign up for the "dont have to put $1000 deposit immediate hirer scheme". My cousin who recently attended the TDVL course said most of his classmates signed up for this scheme (obviously without knowing it is difficult for newbies to be hirers).
To be a day relief very different compare to a day hirer.....
Must sent taxi for repair, servicing etc.....
Telok Blangah, ok, on, I stay North, chin chye right?.....
If put lousy timing of cos no ppl take up la

maybe your area considered ATAS area, but also quite a small estate, all well to do, can't see themselves having to spin steering to serve people.
i think older estates like amk, yishun and hougang can get relief easier, but relief come and go like no body business, they are not committed to the hirer unlike hirer to the company
day driving - got quantity, no quality fare
night driving - got quality fare, no quantity

I ever see 1 Merc cab parked inside Pavilion private house 3 storey before. Also 1 Trans-cab park inside St Michael private house. And a few at Siglap bungalow there. Don't play play. Some really retired cash rich take taxi driving for excuses from wife to go out.

Transcab wish? I also saw before. Lol
Guys.....is no fun at all when park taxi at private estate.....
In SG, you think no discrimination? Me myself endure for few years hor, you think is satki but got to put yourself to our shoe......
One of my neighbour sold his house becos he can't stand to be neighbour with a taxi driver......
I can ignored them but how about your family and children?......
So many kind of unpleasant words I have heard here and there from my neighbour, very tough la.....
Even now I don't drive taxi anymore, limpek park a big car inside, still people will gossip here and there.....
That's life in SG lor.....
This is correct. Being a cabby here is like a pariah - as good as an untouchable in indian caste. You want to be satki, at least also must take cover and use grab or uber with a private car to hide your real job. Cabbies look down on cabbies. What more a neighbour living next to u in a condo? Nothing to be proud lah.

My neighbourhood still got 2 TD still driving, both CDG......
Got once, there's this Silver cab old man driving also, but he hit 73, bye bye liao, house bought by his 3 daughters, all holding a decent job......
The other 2 TD, sometime we met will TCSS a bit, all got beautiful story to tell leh.....
And both also got night relief, self collection type one hor......
Where you stay is not important, important is can partner, atas or not atas, that's beside the point......
