Had to do a marathon tuition session last night. As I said previously, his teacher made them do algebraic word problems without teaching basic algebra first.
The kid told me that his friends said that they managed to understand algebraic word problems only because their own parents/older siblings/tutors taught them.
Give me five minutes with this irresponsible teacher, and I'll F = ma him in the groin, then v^2 = u^2 + 2as him over the balcony from thirty stories high.
you just brought me back to sec school ....

Well, we help our collick with her daughter's school work so I still get to see equations once in awhile...

Actually it makes more sense to use it on a target who doesn't know Physics..... or basic algebra, for that matter. They'll be too stupid to get the insult.
I'm still extremely annoyed over this matter, because basic algebra is the foundation of almost everything in Maths and Science.
Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi (the dude who introduced algebra) is spinning in his grave as we speak.
hmmm.. this is by far one of the most stupid things i've seen...

Nevermind it's butt ugly and that I doubt a girl will want it unless she is a huge Transformers fan (which apparently she is)
Plus why Decepticons? Coz she cheated him out of a butt ugly ring and his entire life?
If the stone's large enough, I don't think any woman would mind.

Money cannot buy taste -_-"
Yes I would mind and I think diamonds are really losing their shine (to me)
Seriously the imitation diamonds these days are so gorgeous that you can't tell it's fake
Which could be why you see more women wearing bigger stones these days
Maybe I'm getting older now. If you wanna give me something, give me gold. I might not wear it but I sure as hell will keep it
Hard truth

Same!!
Btw have you seen any effects after using the Haruhada Vit C thingy?
Actually diamonds should be a semi-precious stone and not a gemstone
But because De Beers is an evil cartel, Diamonds are more expensive than they really are.
I would take gold and silver anyway!
Preferably US treasury gold and silver eagles.

You're a realist too
Come on.... if someone gave you a 20-carat flawless grade A diamond with no strings attached, you'd say no?

I'd sell it as quick as I can and convert the cash to silver and gold :D

I will still take but say no???

Well if it's no strings attached, no one in the right mind will say no
But like Austin said, better to convert it to gold or cash
mmm..
even not just my thinking...
Sooner or later, supermarket chain would also face downsizing due to rising rent... Back to being at town centres
last time we were in bangkok, fatumnette went to this precious stones wholesale place someone recommended to her, it's not one of those tourist traps where they ketok you, but a real wholesale jeweller who sells only loose stones, by appointment only, we were the only non-B-to-B customer there, all the other fellows were buying pebbles by the briefcase load .....
you know what I saw ? .... little grain sized stones, rubies, emeralds, etc, those type used for crowning bigger pebbles .... in sets of 10, a set for between 30 to 50 US .....
loose rubies, sapphire, they empty out a ziplock baggie's worth, give you a monocle, a spotlight and a pair of tweezers and you pick yourself ..... only a couple of hundred US per carat for the best stuff ......
you can imagine how ketok'ed you are buying pebbles at retail .....

and what does such a ring cost you at retail here ? ... or a starry faced rolex ? .....
everyone should watch blood diamond ......
LOL, it's my livelihood... Rather clever use of the 'horns' of the Decepticon as prongs but it's still friggin' ugly.

Those are not gem quality. We don't even separate them when packing as we do with bigger stones (to prevent scratches). And did you know there's a big leap in price from a 0.99ct stone to a 1.00ct stone? It's all the work of marketing.
Mining has done a lot of damage to natural environments, rendered land toxic for agriculture and displaced native people, not just in Africa but also in South America, Australia and Myanmar.
What I like about jewellery though is that it has a personal significance, tends to be kept for a long time and it can be melted down or reset. You can say that of most of today's mass-produced goods.
