any case M'sian chinese press commented abt e PAP's overall win.
They said actually tide wasn't on their side this time round but they still won cos ppl still know who can solve e created prob...
They then go into whacking their govt cos their GE also coming soon. If M'sia can be 1/2 of Singapore in efficiency.
not very efficient today .... still sweating out election fever ....

I think this is a good wake-up call for the PAP la. I do feel they were losing touch with the ground and getting too arrogant.
But end of the day who is the one who can deliver results? The opposition talks about the problems, but what are the solutions? Can they walk their talk?
I am actually pretty neutral politically. I don’t support the PAP nor the Opposition. I just want the best for Singapore.
And I think a wake-up call to the PAP is the best thing that can happen now, and I think they realized it now and that old methods no longer work.
At least they were fast to re-org and respond fast
Upnorth wants to learn from us...
They want to set up a HDB to develop public housing in e city area esp KL... Cos their ppl there also kpkb housing getting expensive

The US cannot really be called a democracy. It's more like.... legalized anarchy.
Anyway, I really hope that something good will come out of the elections. On the PAP side, I hope they really do take what George Yeo said seriously - the discontent on the ground is significant and that they would do well to reform themselves and to do better.
On the opposition side, I hope that WP will remember that getting a GRC is not an end in itself. Now it would behoove them to show that they can really do a good job of running a GRC and to provide a credible voice in Parliament.
Failure to do so would lead to major disillusionment in not just WP, but in the Opposition as a whole.

actually, malaysia have high rise public housing. Though it's mainly for bumis and the maintenance and execution is not quite up to scratch yet ....
This KL bumi taxi driver was telling me about this, too few parking lots for too many cars, security issues, garbage collection, blown out street lamps, lack of grocery and public transport etc .... but the houses are quite cheap, and it benefits chaps like him cos inflation in malaysia is horrendous for the blue collar class, much worse than here.

why on earth conspiracy theory over e walkover surface?
Heck ppl dun realise Lau Lee got challenged bef prev, it's rather ppl like Dr GKS that got a walkover
the ISD actually has a lot better things to do..
and if these are the idiots who are supposed to fight against the detentions without charge by the ISD, then they have failed miserably by hesitating over one phonecall...
Dollars to donuts say that even if that phone call really did happen, it was the work of some mentally-challenged idiot with nothing better to do.
Seriously, if ISD had really wanted to rig the elections, they would have gone after the opposition candidates most likely to win.
