Today, I plugged in my mouse into my PC's USB port. It didn't work.
I plugged it into several other USB ports. The mouse still failed to work.
So I thought that the mouse had failed, and I went out to buy a new one. The new one also didn't work.
Then I figured out what was wrong: the USB ports were all simply acting up a little, and rebooting the PC solved the problem. Now both mice work.
$20 down the drain. FML.

I remember watching a show last night about hyperobese people.....
There was one woman who was so flabby that the folds of skin from her ankle were actually touching the floor. She couldn't walk probably since she ended up stepping on those folds again and again.
In the end, she had surgery to remove her fat. There was so much fat that they didn't even bother to do liposuction..... the surgeon simply sliced the fat out of her.
Even after losing 344 lbs (I kid you not), she's still hyperobese.

Maybe it's time I actually got a new CPU unit. The power supply is making a bloody racket, and now the USB ports are starting to fail. It's also over two years old already.
I can always harvest the brand-new graphics card in my current CPU and just reinstall it in the new one to cut costs.

the racket could be due to dirty/worn out ball bearings in your CPU fans -
in any case, its always a good idea to invest in a good power supply unit for the PC. My targan power supply wasn't cheap but I've been using it since 2005 and its still running strong and silent.
