Okay, in a way it was.... those white barricades you see was the cordon.
The authorities should have placed a line of uniformed policemen around the security cordon. At the very least, kaypoh bystanders would not have gotten shot as well.

he's now eating crickets.. not good coz he says tastes like wet hay in the barn...
now he's after grasshoppers... which are yummy except for the exoskeleton...
before you ask, yes, i've eaten them...
giant water-bugs now.. i heard it's not nice

I tried the fried cricket when I was in Vietnam :DFreshly fried too.. cos tried them at the cricket farm!

there have been reports that said it wasnt an rescue attempt but rather, a mopping up operation as moments earlier, the bus driver who escaped reportedly said the passengers were all dead.
Its just a tragic occurence all around.
If they wanted to shoot him they could have done so plenty of times.
If the tourists were to overpower the hostage taker they could have done so.
If the two negotiators were to grab him they could.
If someone up along the chain of command decided to call in the "real" Special Forces they could.
Someone really has to be held responsible. It was a clusterfuck. really.

the media were freely allowed to broadcast the whole incident live to the fella watching in the bus. part of the clusterfuck i mentioned above.

dont think the tourists 'could'. physically, they probably could have. but when you're there with someone who has a gun, i don't think you'll 'want' to try to do anything that might put your life in (more) danger.

I missed the blood cube in Vietnam... argh.. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue, eating halfway liao then saw the next table got theirs served with the blood cubesssssssssss~I don't know whether I LOVE them or not... but definitely nostalgic for it... .
