it's just like how pple go to concentration-camp-turned-tourist-attraction and take pictures. only this bus is not an 'official' tourist attraction. not that i'd want to take pictures of the bus in any case... =\
today i was watching the news and they showed another clip where the ex-policeman fired a ton of shots before the police finally started to shoot also. dunno which bit of which story is 'true'
but the worst was what some filipino official dude said. something abt how even in countries like russia, where the police has more technologically advanced weapons etc, more people die in similar incidents there. isn't this like saying they already did a good job because not-so-many-pple died? dumbfuck.
and the filipino side gave the names of those who died. apparently one name is wrong because the HK-side said there's no such person by that name who went on that trip >.<

Otherwise, it is a damning indictment of the both the poor situational control done by the Philippine police.... and the cavalier attitude of its citizens.

this is just a random event. but that ex cop was prolly just sick in his mind. sad that he didnt sought help.

Bystanders got shot, a random guy on a bike got caught on camera cycling past the bus, the hostage taker's brother (himself a policeman) was able to enter the exclusion zone unauthorised and got arrested.
OMG! they were that lax about it?!

Having said that, just travelling to KL by coach maybe about 5-6 years ago, suddenly the side window of the coach shattered. We thought it might be a stone, but when we got done, saw the body also kenna shrapnel. Looks like one of those potshot hunting guns or what!
they're heading into the cave for bats..
probably to catch and eat
bats so cute!!! hehe
he wasnt that bad. no matter how fked up one person may be, they is still a tinge of good in them.
If he wanted to kill the hostages he could have done so when the poor untrained and ill equipped street cops were outside the bus trying to break in under the rain.
The whole thing is fked up because of politics and egos. The authorities had the right people who were trained and equipped for this scenario, but someone made the decision not to call for it.
Some one shld get prosecuted for it. seriously. Now the whole of china and its web army are busy lambasting the filipino govt online.
Police Senior Inspector Rolando Mendoza stands by the entrance of a tourist bus as negotiators talk to him during a standoff at Manila's Rizal Park Monday, Aug. 23, 2010 in Manila, Philippines. Mendoza, a dismissed policeman armed with automatic rifle, seized the bus in Manila Monday with 25 people aboard, mostly Hong Kong tourists in a bid to demand reinstatement, police said.
Am i the only one who thinks something could be done during the 2 instances above? I know i am not alone.
Bizarre: Earlier in the day, a random man appeared to cycle past the bus, watched by the armed kidnapper inside the vehicle
WTF???
oh.. they caught a free-tail bat but it's too riddled with fleas..
