650k for a good view of a 3-day race? I'd far rather just get a room at the Swissotel/Pan Pac/Marina Mandarin....
To be sure, Bras Basah is just walking distance to Raffles City..... but I sure wouldn't want to live in the hustle and bustle of downtown.
I'd rather just spend 400k on a nice flat in Simei/Pasir Ris and still have 250k left to burn....
oh yes
Gabrament is selling 1 plot of land at Lakeside & Simei for condo development.

I heard it was sold to a Taiwanese couple.
Well, I guess foreigners are easier to fleece than others....
your dad's place may hit the million mark dude .... seriously ...
of course, when it comes, it won't be a singaporean sucker either, most singaporeans aren't suckers, but there are exceptions, like that couple in the thread ...... for a little bit more one can get a unit at silversea down the road ....

*ptui ! .... to hell with them ! ....
I think someone should make a cartoon.
Since COE prices are beginning to skyrocket probably heading to 1990s level, the ppl should ask the mini star of demolishing the ERP.

there must be 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 other ways to "burn" that money!

You know, I sure would like to meet whichever idiot buys that 900k flat just opposite from mine and laugh in his face..... hell, my flat's bigger than that (you can see the diff from Fatumnette's flat - mine has an extra utility room), it also has a sea view, and it would certainly cost far less than 900k...
But I guess I shouldn't be too surprised if it does get sold at that price.... as they say, there's a sucker born every minute....

If you ask me to pay 650k for a flat there or 800k for a seaview flat at Marine Parade
I rather take the downtown flat seriously :x

So Fudgie are you getting a flat in Simei or Pasir Ris
Just wondering if you will end up being my neighbour

Aiyoh..... of course I wouldn't pay such exorbitant amounts for a heartland flat....
If I had to choose between staying in an ultra-expensive flat near my parents, or a cheaper downtown flat, of course I'd stay downtown.....
All I'm saying is, I'd far rather pay 400k to live in Simei than to pay 650k to live at Bras Basah....
people should unload the Marine Parade places to suckers.. coz i figure, the moment Lau Goh goes, the place becomes condo-land

I like Simei too. I really love the place though there are more people now
We were looking at Tampines and Pasir Ris at the time and didn't think of Simei.
I'm glad my dad reminded us of Simei

Either one is fine with me.....
FS and I are still looking at some options, considering that we don't have CPF on our allowances....
Fatum went through with us on our options.... without going into too many details, let's just say that things are rather complicated at the moment....
Anyway, gotta get back to work.... I should be seeing a student anytime soon. Adios.
