the uniform now is so much nicer! so is the equipment! damn.
but again, back when i was serving NS, singapore was still singapore.
I think today I'd be very unwilling to serve. :P
I think if e COE rises to e levels of $60k, ppl should start asking Raymond Lim to remove ERP gantries.
So expensive how to own cars? More ppl would be forced to take buses or MRT.

the old days.
also, the goddamned leather feet mangler boots in the past could have been used as torture devices compared to the current very very comfortable gore-tex boots..

aiya those days gabrament so poor no $$ to spend on equipments.
tis morning at HarbourFront saw a 1970s bus stop scene
6 SBS buses waiting to conduct boarding/ alighting at e bus stop towards PSA Bldg. Simply because e 2 bus bay bus stop has 1 bay exclusively occupied by RWS aka Casino for its staff to use.
Tat bus stop is crowded w/ ppl heading to PSA Bldg or Science Park II.
I think someone wrote into PAP Times over tis matter as I read today's paper.

and yet there are 101 complaints
off work off work~~~
aiyah, i believe most of us when we were serving also kpkb about serving and sort of wasting 2 years of our best youth in the saf..
who doesnt..its common for people to make noise bout situations they're unhappy in regardless of how tough it is or was..
its what you do and your attitude when serving that matters.. just human tendency to complain..
applies to office as well
anyway, it's freezing here in the office
home... eaten sio ark mee... lovely
just came back from a pre-dawn seabass sortie at my favourite hole .......
caught nothing .... cos some arsehole stretched a 50 meter gillnet over the rivermouth .....
I lost three lures to the net before I got fed up and took a swim with my pair of scissors ........
There were dead baby seabass and barracudas and assorted mullets and catfish strung all over the net ......
got my lures back ... and 5 others too ........
somehow, i think some foreign workers are the culprits...
anyway, IT'S FRIDAY!!!
joke of the day:
there's an addition of one more person in my section so they dismantled an unused room to make 2 workstations for the other guy in the office and the new guy....
the room used to have a light switch for the lights.. and since they knocked down the wall, the switch disappeared but the lights were still on...
so after much searching for the switches, everyone left the lights on overnight.. this morning, we called the buildings people to find out where the switch was...
they said: the switch is above the ceiling boards..
wtf?? why the hell would they put the goddamned switch there?

haha so they expect you guys to climb on ladders to reach the ceiling to remove the boards and then to switch on and off the lights everyday?
i dunno.. i just cracked up when i heard it...
later they'll come to construct the cubicles.. i think they're going to kena by the boss about the light switch

You know, this reminds me of the time my uncle's flat was undergoing upgrading.....
They put in a handrail near the shower area, ostensibly to help the elderly and handicapped from losing their grip on the floor....
But guess what..... they put the handrail above the eye level of most people.
My uncle went berserk at the contractors when he discovered what they did..... 'You people want me to do chin-ups in the toilet ahh?!?!?!'
