i felt..pampered...:)
in office....
first thing i saw was that my bowl which i use for oats was forgotten from last week.. so it set hard as concrete... i put it to soak in boiling water in the pantry.. hopefully by the time i knock off, it's softened enough to wash...
ate the typical morning fried noodles for the first time in months... feeling kinda bloated now
damn, I missed all the fun in last night's nightowls!
*yawns*
I tried to go to sleep at 11 last night.... but my brain couldn't seem to shut down.
In the end, I got up and watched Hull vs Man Utd.
Pretty sad that Boro and Newcastle both have to go down..... but they kinda deserved it after one whole season of crappy playing.
As graciousness drive starts, some want penalties imposed
SINGAPORE: A new graciousness campaign has been launched to get train commuters to give up their seats for the elderly and make way for alighting passengers. |
no way to implement penalties lah.
and people already know the right thing to do. they just choose not to do it.
it's like.. what? put hell of a lot of inspectors to cram into the already overcrowded trains?
I seriously find it very sad that even for things like giving up seats, the 'carrot or the stick' approach has to be utilised.
I also find it very sad that they have to get PCK to educate people to give their seats up and to let passengers out of the train first.
At the same time, I also have to vehemently object to snapping photos of people who seemingly do not give up their seats and posting those photos on the public domain.
Those photos never tell the whole picture..... It's perfectly usual for me to offer my seat to an old man or a pregnant woman, only for them to turn me down.

and passengers are either going to ignore them or beat them up.

I've found that the only way to enjoy a pleasant journey is to get up earlier. the not so pleasant thing, other than sleeping less, is that I end up in the office 45 minutes before I'm supposed to start work :P
Morning...Gurmit Singh was at my workplace on Saturday, unannounced...and I never realised it LOL. I was busy washing up.
I think they should remove seats from the trains altogether and give up trying to educate Singaporeans who refuse to be gracious. Sorry to penalise those who actually give up their seats, but what else can we do?
Ok verdict on the Kwey Chup place I went on Sunday
It's the one opposite Malaysia Dairies (KNS my friend describe until so kang kor)
Standard has dropped :(
They didn't braise the innards as long as before and it's more fusion than the traditional kind of Kwey Chup
But you get to choose what you want.
The fried intestines are good (didn't know they serve fried intestines :X)
I would say that place is worth visiting for the fried intestines
The Kwey Chup is still better than most places though
Frankly speaking, I find the whole concept of 'Priority Seating' to be highly retarded.
In the first place, if you're gracious enough, then every seat should be a Priority Seat.
Why wait for just those people in the Priority Seats to offer their seats? As soon as you see an old man/pregnant woman/handicapped person stand near you, you should aim to be the first to offer your seat no matter where it is that you're sitting.

Well, clearly we are not gracious enough yet as a whole, and even with Priority Seats, everyone still waits for another person to give up their seat. For once I advocate that we should all suffer together with standing-only trains.
football season is over.
oh well.
looking forward to july~!!!!!!
but hopefully june will clear smoothly

in some other countries where there are clearly marked seats for the elderly/pregnant, commuters do not sit on them even when they are empty with no elderly/pregnant women in sight.
not sure if singapore will ever get to that stage

I don't advocate that.
In the end, you still need seats for the elderly, the pregnant, the handicapped, and those carrying babies.
Should the train driver suddenly e-brake, I don't want a fella losing his grip and dropping his little kid, and I do not want a pregnant woman to fall and land on her belly . Like it or not, we need seats for them, even if it means that there are retarded monkeys out there who don't want to give them up when needed.
One thing's for sure..... there will never be a day when such accidents happen just because the Fudgester was too selfish to offer his seat.
