oh last year they reverted back to the old style already, route march to the parade square for pop.

usually cook instant noodles, throw away water, put pork cubes in it.. sardines open, mash, use as bait to catch flies in plastic bag to torment with mosquito coil, chocolate - attempt to eat but throw away in disgust, jam and whatever - go and feed ants, hard tack, throw at stray dogs which then refuse to eat the stuff anyway

I didn't get canned food in my time either (thankfully), but we did carry only 3 days' worth of stuff on our selves. Fruit bars were my favourite bit and I usually traded instant noodles and tea for them with the fellars who didn't want "active intestine" for the whole field camp.
