Ingredients
1 cup water 1 cup sugar 4 large eggs 2 cup dried fruit 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup brown sugar lemon juice nuts 1 gallon whiskey
Instructions
Sample the whiskey to check for quality. Take a large bowl. Check the whiskey again to be sure that it is of the highest quality.
Pour 1 level cup and drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer; beat 1 cup butter in a large fluffy bowl.
Add 1 teaspoon sugar and beat again. Make sure the whiskey is still okay. Cry another tup. Turn off the mixer. Break two legs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.
Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the whiskey to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups of salt. Or something. Who cares. Check the whiskey. Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Spoon. Of sugar or something. Whatever you can find.
Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Throw the bowl out of the window. Check the whiskey again. Go to bed. Who the hell likes fruitcake anyway?
This is enough pan-fried pork chops with apples for 2 people (or one hungry Club30 member). Recipe adjusted after my first try.
200g pork loin chops, thinly sliced
1 Granny Smith apple, pared, cored and sliced
1/2 a white onion, sliced (red will also do)
1 tsp raw sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
80ml dry apple cider
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
Ground black pepper and sea salt
Season pork on both sides with pepper and salt. Heat olive oil in frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork and let it sit for a minute or two until it starts to brown, Turn over and remove when done. Keep warm in foil.
Reduce heat to medium. Melt butter in frying pan and add the apples and onions. Let them cook until they start to soften. Don't let them brown. Lower the heat again to med-low.
Add remaining ingredients and a pinch of salt and let them simmer. When apples are tender and have absorbed as much liquid as possible, serve them over the pork chops with the onions and sauce.
