Didn't know that. I am assuming this is being done to avoid the pirate-infested waters off Somalia?That diversion probably increases the transit time by quite a few days, I'd imagine.

yesh, the lines doing tis gotta add 1 more vessel and cancel some port callingactually it's more to avoid e cost of using e Suez canal.
Another thing, Pasir Panjang Wharve is closing by October. all conventional cargo are to be handled by Jurong Port Pte Ltd's Jurong Port & Penjuru Terminal. Parts of e Pasir Panjang Wharve has alrdy been covered up for land reclamation works for Pasir Panjang Container Terminal

I read somewhere that the shipping companies have begun hiring armed guards to protect their vessels sailing in those waters.
Did you read about the pirate attack on the Zhenhua 4 and how the crew fought off the pirates with "homemade" weapons? Article and pictures here.

well no doubt like Star Buk and KopiBean serve good quality kopi bean kopi, but not everybody can fork out that $5.00plus for a cuppa of kopi drink.this $5 may mean a lot to some pple in the hard times.. maybe it meant a day's meal $$..

In between coffee-cum-gossip session. Managed a veg pao for dinner - friend commented it tastes like char siew pao.

cos JAE results are out. I got some surprise as more and more poly course having single digit cut off points
goodness, meaning must get straight A1 to get into tat poly course
