btw speaking of cameras any reccomendations for digicams for camera noobs? saw sony t300 and canon 950 on sale for about 500 wondering if should buy

both canon and sony make good compacts. just pick whatever's in your budget.stay away from nikon compacts, which are quite crap.

Yesterday at East Coast, quite a number of people saw an unusual sight of 2 RSN frigates actually patrolling the Straits.
Rare indeed......the frigates don't usually patrol and in fact seldom transit through the Straits.

500 will buy you a very decent camera. Stay away from SLS ah beng shops and you won't get conned. -

I took those shots with my ricoh compact. not a dslr. any compact with a macro mode will do. -
