my parents invest in gold .... I don't ...
but I do have a few small plain cut assorted stones I purchased a few years ago ....
at that time, I had the whimsical notion of setting them onto a ring for my future wifey ....
but I figured jewellery is a lot easier to carry than gold ....

Diamonds... don't turn me on. CZ (Cubic Zirconia) sparkle just as brightly, if not more.
I'd sooner plant 30K into an investment account or property and also use some spare change to go on a trip somewhere nice than to get a diamond that I can't wear for fear of theft when I prowl through the dark streets of Melbourne at night. Like what av just said, a fat bank account is better than any stone!
Besides, I like one-of-a-kind unique semi-precious stones more than diamonds.

... i think cos he wanna "replace" the watch i was wearing then (xmas gift from ex) hehehee...but it's expensive for him as a student, and to me too cos i dun wear expensive watch... i too clumsy lah, if watch is expensive, kenna scratch i heart pain >.<

And you can buy those tiny gold medels which is easy to carry too
No one ask you to carry gold bars around

people tend to think in terms of weight..a grammes of a perfect diamond = a couple of kg of gold
