No problem
Then starting today, 23rd July 2008, will be day zero.
Thirty days later can weigh in!
Anyway I just discovered I added muscle mass, cos too much weights i guess. So now I am actually in +2 Condition.
Well I think I can give some of my suggestions here since I lost 28KG since September last year hehehe. For those who have seen me before...yeah I am still very fat...I weigh 120KG now...and I was hitting 150KG in Sept. And I believe I will continue to lose.
1) Eat more meals. A typical day looks like this for me:
Breakfast - 2 pieces of bread - one spread with no sugar added jam and one with Skippy Peanut butter! I like! With HL milk, or Milo Kosong or just water
Tea Break - 3 pieces of Cream Crackers with Milo Kosong.
Lunch - Yong Tau Hu or something soupy. Of cos once in a while I will have Mixed Rice (In Mixed Rice, I always ensure 2 vege and 2 meats - the meats best is not fried)
Tea Break - Same as morning tea break but when my colleagues want to go out, we may have Carrot Cake sometimes haha.
Dinner - Whatever my mum cooks, usually quite healthy but filling.
2) INDULGE......................once in a while. I used to eat potato chips every other day while watching TV or playing games...I used to eat KFC every week, 3 pc meal with cheese fries etc... now I make sure I hardly eat chips unless I really cannot control the urge and I eat KFC once every 3 months.
3) I cut out desserts - no more ice kacang, no more tau suan...i eat chocolates once in a while...sugar free chocolates haha.
4) In Buffets - I eat salads first. Then after that I attack those dishes that I never tried before and I want to try. Then after that I try those dishes I like. Then if still not full, i take some carbo.
5) Always eat your fruits, dun drink you fruits (meaning fruit juice).
This is what I can think of. I think a low fat and low carbo diet can help alot. NOTE, it is low not NON. So still enjoy your life but just in moderation, enjoy urself by all means.
As for exercise, it is recommended...it definitely is IMPORTANT to exercise. I am so fat that my GP ask me not to jog or even walking. But I went to the GYM and discovered Cross Trainers and I have been on it. It feels good to exercise although after my dad passed away 4 months ago, i lost my momentum somehow BUT just to encourgae, the first 3 months of my following this diet, I lost 20KG WITHOUT exercise. Thus changing your diet ALONE still gives you good results. But including exercise into your regime is the ultimate long term solution.
Wtf?
Good luck Bear.
One big eater down, 2 more to go.
today was spent at home asleep... coz influenza finally got to me...

that's why you need animal protein .....
From what I read here, most of you are keen in losing weight.
But are you losing the right weight? When I was with my trainer, he measured my index on msucle and fats and etc. What went shocking to me was that I lost muscle mass more than body fats out of the 12kg. He said it's ok, as initial stage you will lose this mass, feel lighter and easier to work out also.
Now, I am gaining some muscle mass back as I work out and take protein shakes. Mind you, if you take protein shakes and choose not to work out, you are heading for a disaster! The protein contains high carbs and will be absorbed so quickly that you will gain mass.
Now, my trainer has advised me to train hard, build the muscles properly and lose the body fats slowly. The reason is that a pound of muscle requires 50 calories to support it daily. The higher your body mass on msucle, the more calories you can burn. In short, bring up the metabolism rate. Another reason, he needs to milk money from me. :D
Anyway, all the best to everyone out there trying to lose weight!

Your trainer is right. Muscles help you burn fats througout the day while exercising only helps you burn fats during that period. So your exercising regime should include some weights and building up of muscles. Even the kind of muscles you target when you work out in gym is a important thing to note according to one sports physio i talked to. But at 120KG, she told me, the most important thing is to burn those extra kilos down to a good weight (closer to 100KG) before thinking about increasing my weight training...cos building muscles now will just discourage me more cos i will put on more weight haha!
Had a nice treat last night. Grilled lamb, chicken, bratwurst, baby ribs, prawns.. woohoo..
Lunch will be a makan treat. Dinner will be a makan treat. Tmr nite will be a drinking treat. WOOHOO!!

Gulping water when you wake up and during the day is good! But not before you sleep, especially just before you sleep hehehe....its ok to drink a glass of water but not gulp alot lah.... it causes your body to retain the water and there is something else which my doctor told me....aiyah i just remember its no good haha

Hi Bear
I don't know what is inside your assorted pills, but skipping breakfast makes you gain weight fast. There is a medical reasoning for it, not sure what is it.
Can I suggest an eat more meals diet? I see the amount you are taking, is it enough to sustain your daily activities? 1 more thing, no more durians!
off topic a little.
will be interesting to see when gassie and shrekho meet up
