Maybe, he meant that if you have a spring mattress, you can take advantage of the springs recoiling, "Sproing!!" to kinda propel you back up when doing the sit-up.
I used to 'cheat' when doing sit-ups by doing just that...

recently i need a pre-sleep shower. cools down the body alot and i can sleep easier.

i never use spring mattress.
besides oni 20-30 push ups wont really make u pespire.
i just tried it.
still dry.
if sit-ups, i think yeah. my back would be slightly wet.
i don't pespire like a waterfall =.=

age caught up with me ... but then depression too. So I just feel no reason to be awake so i slipped into sleep nowadays. Its preferable to anxiety then I need sleeping aids
hmmm...i like to get myself comfortable, lie on the bed, hug bolster tightly and just dream and fantasize.
like sometimes id fantasize bout a date with say...natalie portman sometimes id fantasize that i possess some kickass exotic martial arts and sparring with a hawt and violent female assasin. sometimes i fantasize about living in a high tech cyberpunk city, took the red pill and am now organizing a resistance against the agents.
then as i slowly get to sleep, id dream a many amazing things man! and id wake up rly fresh the next morning.
only reading newsweek these days...then plop!
No matter what I do, I STILL have dreams / nightmares every night. The encouraging thing is, the nightmares are no longer vivid ones that scare the bejesus out of me.
I was feeling tired in the middle of a 12-hour shift when I overheard a few colleagues talking about their bedtimes and one of them, in her early 20's, said that she heads to bed at about 8-8:30pm every night and sleeps well before waking up for her 12-hour shift!
That made me re-think about my own sleep habits and made me realise that hell, I've been suffering from a sleep deficit for years now! I keep sleeping less and less at all manner of odd hours, and I think over the years, it catches up on you.
Maybe, all the nightmares and dreams are nothing more than a disturbed mind due to perpetual bad-quality and not-enough sleep!
So, I'm going to adjust my bedtime now. Factor in 1.5 hrs of pre-sleep reading or daydreaming in bed, then sleep for at least seven hours, ideally, eight. Sometimes, due to work rostering, not quite possible, because if you work two 12-hour shifts in a row, all you can do is work, come home, shower, sleep, and then back to work again.
Usually just listen to music on my bed until sleepiness sets in, then i switch my mp3 player off.
however, theres been many a time when I fell asleep with music still playing...woke up and find myself sleeping on the gadget and the batteries being flat..
Work until buay tahan then collapse sometimes cannot sleep so dun sleep at all
burn some nice scented candles before sitting on the bed to read lo. but occasionally nia. half the time, busying in the night till 2-3 plus. :(
shower, foreplay then sleep
I read forums, read news articles, listen to music until duno what time then go brush teeth and wash face and sleep.
Sometimes even worst, go clubbing until never sleep haha...
Ya >.< need to change to a healthier lifestyle. Sleep before 12am!
