  Okie ... so after the potluck ... maybe it's time to look at loosing some weight, no ? ...
  
  Let's go donate blood ! ...
  
  Where:
  Health Sciences Authority (outram)
  
  When:
  19th January, Saturday, meet at 10 AM at outram MRT ...
  
  Who:
  Everyone healthy enough ...
  
  Why :
  Let's give a little more in the new year ... I was a long time blood donor before I went overseas, now I'm back, it's time to start giving blood again .... I must confess it was the ads I've been hearing on the radio ... but hey ! ,.. it's a good deed, no ? ....
  
  Also, both centers run bone marrow registries where you can pledge your bone marrows as well ... if you haven't had the chance to do so before, this is it ...
  
  We can of course, arrange a gluttony session afterwards ....

  you go there, fill in the forms, declare that you haven't been notti or a brokebacker in the last 6 months, and wait
  
  the nurse will get you to lie down on a comfy chair, poke the needle in, and let your blood drip .....

  went for donation drives 3 times during my army days and each time got turned away after the initial screening process.
  
  but good thing is everytime we were told to go = 1/2 day off!

  the only needle that is pain is the normal one.
  
  after they numb u, when its time for the actual blood donation no pain.

  that'll only happen if you are haemophiliac..
  
  they'll give you a piece of cotton or gauze.... hold against the vein for about 5 minutes and the blood will clot and the bleeding will stop..
  
  then they'll give you a very cheerful-looking plaster (at least the last time i went was like that)

  b4 u donate, pls check the website for more info.. u cannot anyhow donate one...
  if u are on medication, pls don't risk other ppl's life...
  if u lack of blood urself, pld dun risk ur own life...

  yeah.. that's after..
  
  i never had any problems after donating and always want to run off but they will not let you.. they'll make you sit or lie down and make you drink the stuff and eat some cookies or biscuits
