The government of Georgia has hired disco icons Boney M in a campaign to win the hearts and minds of the people from the separatist region of South Ossetia.
The group — which hit it big during the 1970s and 1980s with smash singles such as Rasputin, Brown Girl In The Ring, Daddy Cool, Painter Man and Rivers of Babylon — will play a concert Saturday night in a border village within walking distance of South Ossetia's rebel capital, Tskhinvali.
South Ossetia broke away from Georgia after the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union. Rebels want to join the Russian Federation.
Georgian authorities have drafted Boney M for the event in Tamarasheni, a village of 500 people, to show the South Ossetians that life would be better if they returned to the fold.

there are 2 groups ...called themselves BOney M
Group 1 : lead singer (cant remember her name) + (2 gals & 1 guy = not original).
Group 2 : 1 gal or 2 gals and the rest (not original).

The lead singer I met 11 years ago, was very hostile to me (I just joined my record company for a month) when I approached her and said hello...
Then she found out I just joined the company, she hugged and cried on my shoulder.. I have to console her instead....
She told me about how hard she worked and the rest of the member just leeching on the royalties and cannot sing......
and now the other group is "ganging" against her..
pity her actually.....have to console her for at least an hour (her husband watching somemore)...till she calmed down.. hmm not bad heh...
Being a new bird in the record company, my impression was...: why did I kana dragged into this industry hah... -
