Nvm...Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Nope, never heard of it. Sorry!
So what's an 'extra loader service'?Originally posted by sbst275:Heck...
Maersk has 1 'extra loader' for Asia -> Australia
Port rotation: Shanghai -> Yantian -> Hong Kong -> PSA/ Singapore -> Sydney -> Melbourne
Dunno suddenly got this
Apparently they said because there's extra demand needed, so they adding 1 additional vessel to cope on a one time off basisOriginally posted by Meia Gisborn:So what's an 'extra loader service'?
Perhaps the additional demand comes from shippers in Singapore, hence Maersk's decision to have the vessel call there instead of Malaysia. Just a guess.Originally posted by sbst275:Apparently they said because there's extra demand needed, so they adding 1 additional vessel to cope on a one time off basis
Surprisingly, they're calling at PSA Terminal instead of their Malaysian port
But they've investments there horOriginally posted by Meia Gisborn:Perhaps the additional demand comes from shippers in Singapore, hence Maersk's decision to have the vessel call there instead of Malaysia. Just a guess.
Silly question: Do building codes in SG require structures to be earthquake-resistant?Originally posted by fudgester:Woah.... my head's still spinning from the tremors just now. I still can't properly tell whether the building's still trembling slightly or if it's all in my head.
I guess it doesn't help that I live on the 19th floor... a HDB block is essentially a vertically-mounted cantilever beam which has greater oscillations at the free end.
And the fact that I live in Marine Parade doesn't help either.... I think the soil that makes up reclaimed land is less stable.
I'm still feeling giddyOriginally posted by the Bear:one of the earthquakes, i had a splitting headache.. but i thought it was just me being tired
Ask the experts and they will tell you our buildings in Sg can withstand tremors. But........one of my frenz in construction industries told me.......Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Silly question: Do building codes in SG require structures to be earthquake-resistant?
