ermmm...i was kinda always being selected to work for child care centre.
even went for a few interviews.
i usually pass the interviews with flying colours.
but its their misery pay that i stop short of joining them.
fren whose wife gave birth this morn, (that same guy I went back sg to attend for wedding that wan.) is a childcare centre teacher. i think she is the only singaporean in that outfit. And her pay less then $1100/- gross per month.
And she had a diploma in electrical engineering or something from our singapore local polytechnic.
while working at the childcare centre, she is bonded to the school for a couple more years, till she finishes the diploma in childhood studies.
for those keen to take on childcare studies, and need some funds assistance, you could go to www.cdac.org.sg to check out their subsidised training courses. -

I originally wanted to take on the certificate in infant care & toddlers in the home.
Was even planning to sponsor my mother for the course, so that she can a) help my sister in USA & b) possibly work as a nanny at home.

I was usually offered $700/- and that is the highest they offer to a singaporean, irregardless of your educational background.
So even if you are a grad. to start at these child care centre, its $800/- they can go i guess. -
