Best part of my day was my stop at a pet shop in the Victoria Gardens Mall - so many cute little kittens!! There were Ragdolls, Ragdolls X Siamese, Chincillas, and a pair of the prettiest Gold Burmese I have ever seen!!
Work always brings about a lot of strife and stress. Sometimes it can be hard to swallow and sometimes, we just feel down and out. Give yourself a break, Fatum. I know most guys don't like to discuss such issues but oh well, don't stress / fret yourself silly, ok? -

Yeah... having a mortgage is really quite scary. but I think a well behaved children can be a blessing and a source of pride ...
it's all up to the parents I guess .... and parenting is a couple's job .. it's way too much for a single parent ... as my landlord has shown .... -

Chris have the old-fashioned mentality that get married is to have kids to be considered a whole family unit >< and that you have someone to look after you when you're old
For me, we are already a family unit and that it is almost laughable to expect yr kids to look after you coz by that time you should thank your lucky stars you don't have to support them when you have 1 foot in the grave -

well actually hor ... one of the reasons why I'd want to have kids is because of the emotional security in old age ...
my extended family has a few singles ... and as retirement approaches ... as friends and families are pre-occupied with offsprings and daily life ... it can get awfully lonesome ....
having children provides a sort of emotional blanket in old age I suppose ... -

Her teenage son, whom I've met and seemed to be a nice, intelligent young teen, was so badly bullied in school that he attempted suicide and ended up with very bad fractures on both legs, to the extent that he can no longer walk long distances and he tires easily doing 'normal' everyday things.
I was aghast! I almost cried with her in her room! Her son is a sweet, gentle, very well-behaved young boy and definitely didn't deserved to be bullied and pushed to that extreme! She cried because she felt she had failed to pick out the warning signs as a mom and helped to protect and save her son. I was angry that the other boys would pick on a sweet, gentle teen so viciously!
Guess it's not easy to raise kids here. Too much bad elements to deal with. School bullies here can be shockingly cruel! Singapore's school bullies are lame, compared!
Not only that, there's the drugs to deal with too! I asked my colleagues one day and almost all of them know of someone who's on drugs or they themselves had experiemented with drugs at some stage, and I suspect there are a couple who still take drugs occasionally.
I think I can deal with kittens clawing my couch and shredding my curtains better, thank you! At least I won't get a heart attack from those! -

I'm in a family with alot of people married with children and they still end up lonely with no emotional blanket coz they are in Singapore and their children have all migrated overseas
And the person looking after all the grandaunts is my dad -
