*whisper* and if u go at night, u get to see glow in the dark fungus.. which i love cos it makes me feel like fairyland.
I'm looking for a specific route - mountain bikers should know.. where Belukar Trail (mountain bike path) crosses Rifle Range Road?

well ... I used to haunt that place cos it's near my house ... but my brain is wired for directions, not names ... I can bring you there, but I can't tell you the trail .....Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:hee which ones are u talking about? A lot of them have disappeared or getting overgrown
One of my favourites.. the network behind Jalan Kayu and seletar airbase is now under construction. Its sad but i really loved that area. Lots of fruit trees and other interesting plants.
Eh Hisoka...
Although the weather is hot and humid.. its the idea of GETTING there that makes me feel sian. But once you are there, and the walk started, you will find it enjoyable.
hey me too! I lived at jalan kayu and when I was young, I used to cycle by myself with my doggy past seletar airbase and those old 'ghost town' kampongs to the yishun dam and just hang around there.Originally posted by Fatum:well ... some of the places are not on any marked trails ... if there were, they'd have been destroyed long ago ....
erm lets see.Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:hee which ones are u talking about? A lot of them have disappeared or getting overgrown

5 hours of sweating like a pig and labouring across the wilderness with insects, spiders, lizards, snakes, wild animals, etc.
doesn't sound appealing + i thin i will be bored by the half hour mark
oh i sweat alot at night too.Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:go at night then when its cooler.. and u might get to see glow in the dark fungus..
I think a good guide is important when u are 'introduced' to nature.. someone who likes it enough and has the knowledge and is able to share with you the things you see so it doesn't just become a mass of green stuff but has personality.
doesn't look like it, their cameras are pointing downward, with a bunch of flashlight attached to it.Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:possibly birds. just went Bukit Timah this weekend and interesting sights I saw:
lots of breadfruit trees along rifle range road! But no fruits
lots of durian trees too, but not yet season
I also saw a .. bird. Since i no expert at birds can't tell u name but very cool. its black with two long extended tails hanging down. very pretty.
occasionally i can see bat lilies along the way as well.
Its a nice walk, perhaps you all free can go sometime
