just carrying on my daily normal life, saw a few guys with a very big hole in their pockets by the size of their bouquet they are holding

I was working the Evening shift! But before work, I went for a Tarot Card Reading, because a colleague went and was spooked out by how accurate her reading was.
Anyways, I was telling my colleagues that I'd rather celebrate on another day, because I'd hate to think that my guy was fleeced by the ruthless businessmen. Instead of paying A$40 for half a dozen red roses, I'd rather be brought to, say, Loi Loi's for a nice meal for two on a day when the crowds are kept at bay.
Or, like another colleague declared, "Everyday should be Valentine's Day if you're with your love!"
