Though I love horror movies, I have to admit some phobias have developed.
Sometimes before I do something bad, I think of the SAW guy....
And stop.
And I get paranoid after doing the deed; and it's not the conscience........................ -

so its like the human corpses are acting as a flower basket with the brains providing the necessary nutrients for the seeds to grow.
It showed police cordoning off an area of a garden where a human head was found half-buried in the ground with the top of the scalp and skull removed to reveal brain matter and a lovely flower growing right in the midline of the brain! 
Of course, it's a tad ridiculous cause the exposed brain matter would have been decomposed to mush already and a flower growing on brain matter... hmm... wait, is that ridiculous at all? Cuz the brain's full of proteins and well, nobody has really tried this out before!
Oh well, lots of questionable moments in the movie where you really have to suspend your logic but well, it's from a manga afterall and like I always say to friends who balk and sulk when watching illogical, irrational movies, it's NOT a documentary!
I must say the plot of the series was really interesting! And that Lucy Monostone theme song... it just stays... in... your... mind... cannot... forget... -

I think I view such movies 'clinically', ie. with a detatched frame of mind. I remove myself from it and I actually look out for authenticity when the gory deeds are being done. I'm into the special effects and how well they mimic real life.
Besides, I always remind myself - it's just a movie! -
SAW and SAW II were really great movies!
However, in real life, can a person be pushed to resort to such extreme measures for the sake of survival?
I'm not so sure.
But then again, there's this chap who was alone mountain-climbing, slipped and fell with his right arm caught in between rocks and to survive, he took out his Swiss Knife and slowly severed his own wrist to free himself! And this is a REAL-LIFE account!!
Don't think I'd be able to do any of the gory stuff the folks in SAW had to do! -
I love watching all sorts of horror movies, the gorier the better, the higher the bodycount the better, preferably with some gratitious nudity and sex thrown in for good measure. I love watching people die in all sorts of painful and creative ways.
And yet, if I'm watching some other kind of movie or show (e.g. the feelgood type), like "Ed" for example, all my emotions rise to the surface esp when Ed and Carol are having a moment or some other touching/heart wrenching scene. I have been reduced to tears before.
I think I need a shrink -

actually, if you think about stuff like i do, you know what's a scary movie? the first Ghost In The Shell movie... if human minds could be hacked like computers, and a program became sentient and did that... that's some scary stuff.. the loss of self, replaced by a lie and you don't even know about it...
the scene that got me was when this dustman is told that his life as he was living at that time, wasn't his... he was so lost...

One of the most disturbing anime I watched was "Paranoia Agent"! It's not cause of the in-your-face violence but rather, it's the subtle innuendos in the show. After watching the show, it had a huge huge impact on me and I sat there on my couch, almost forgetting to breathe! Such deep meaning in a simple anime... Awesome!

i think i was messed up when i was a cub... there was this monster baby movie, It's Alive!
kinda gross.. baby was born a monster... literally.. killed the doctors and went on a rampage.. i watched that when i was.. maybe 6?
