From talking with my Singaporeans friends and my relatives in Australia ,all I know is that when someone who is [b] OPENLY sour about singaporeans planning or actually migrating to anywhere or Australia - they either failed to make it overseas and have to return blaming the country instead of themselves , OR the country don't want them . So Gazelle , which one is your reason?
Usually Singaporeans who love Singapore will just ask why and wish you the best and you wish them the best and both go on our own happy way keeping in contact ....and none of them behave like you gaz

If there wasn;t an increase in older people coming over, how do explain the number going up? Don't give me that story about the 1976 cohort getting older over that time - you know as well as I do that even with your false assumption about them all being there over that period, they still only consituted around 20% of the total 2001 cohort, and that's nowhere near enough to create that 9-year swing.
And as for what you can tell me, well, that's your opinion and I, like most people here, will choose to disregard your opinions. -

b) I am a part owner of a property in Sunshine coast that I share with my bros, so technically speaking, I already have a roof above my head in australia.
c) I have load of business contacts in australia and I can easily get a job or set up my own business if i wish to.
Contrary to what you are saying, I would never want to relocated my parents for selfish reasons.
I am born in Singapore and I like the convenient of eating out, hangout out with all my friends and living close to my parents and relatives, plus there are actually so much more opportunities to make your first million dollar in Singapore than in isolated Australia.
I wonder why so many australians are trying to get out and singaporeans are trying to get it...interesting isnt it? -

Under sponsorship program , you are not a priority - that is a cold hard fact. Spouse, Children are priorities . After those two ,Parental categories - then you have the contributory scheme and the wait long long scheme - of which the first is pay up and go in fast .
There is very limited allocated places for other family migrants AND you have to prove that you are dependent on them or you have some compelling reason. You can wait up to 5- 10 years. Who are you trying to bluff here? Shows that you know nothing. If you knew something - you would have said you would come through the business migration route . Next time -want to bluff - don't bother - your cover will be blown.
As for my parents - continue calling me selfish lor ...I don't care ...they got their own assets and investments to manage in Australia and unfortunately those are just not as simple as 0.something part of a property you claim to own.
As for australians getting out -ever heard of Dual Citizenship? that is smart.
Now if someone say they are going to pay you 5 times higher , all your living expenses , give you a car to drive around, a comfy condo to live in but you have to move to their country ....WHY NOT?
