I like what I am doing now. But the company is boring. All woman bosses.Originally posted by RaTtY8l:do wat u like? afterall qian shi zhuan bu wan de
Go for the stuff you have passion for. You only get paid at the end of the month when that's going to be your happiest moment. On the other days of the month, if you don't like your job, you'll be thinking that you're dragging yourself to work everyday. Not only that, while in your job, you'll think of why you accepted the job and is already thinking of the good old days, or might even job hop again soon.Originally posted by Honeybunz:I am now working in a place, big organisation, but little resources.
As such, I am forced to multi-task and do a lot of stuff that I have no experience, skills nor knowledge to carry out properly. I am not complaining cuz this is a great opportunity for me to learn and shine. I have never done PR and now I actually do press releases, send to media and manage to get media coverage for my organisation.
The pay is so so... reasonable. Not really rocket high kind of pay, despite my heavy duty and achievements. My boss trusts me a lot, but often, I get very annoyed with her indecisiveness and bugging (typical of female boss).
The project that I am working on is a new project, newly developed, endorsed by Ministry and it's a national level kind of project.
I have a few staff. All quite hardworking. But they are not really experienced. In fact, many things that I am doing now, they cannot help me. Eg. they are not bilingual. If there is something that requires chinese language, it will be done by me. On top of that, I have to plan and execute PR and publicity kinda things (which is my primary duty). Their inability to help me really gives me more work (when my primary role is heavy enough). I tried getting temp staff, and end up the temp staff also cannot help me much (instead, he gives me more work by asking me 101 questions whenever I ask him to do something).
Despite of all the complaints, I know I can move far from here if I stay on. As it is now, I am exposed to media interview, working with ministry and so on.
The project that I am working on will continue to succeed and grow. As it is, I really have a blue print of what I am going to do in the next few months and next financial year.
Today I rec'd a call from a friend who wants to recommend me to his company (I didn't even write in to apply for any job). He needed me to go see his GM today. But tomorrow I have a major event going on and today I was really busy. His company was really keen and he is trying to fix an interview for me on Monday. I have a feeling that this company might be able to pay me higher... $500 to $1000 more.
But if I join the new company, I will lose all the exposure and stop learning new things. I will be going back to doing sales (I hate sales).
On the other hand, I love money.
What do you think I should do?
