Getting Married

Wow, it is a domino.
Now 5 of us are already married, and we have just graduated 2 years. I wonder why the news is always reporting on lack of marriages among graduates. Already like 20% of us are married, and we are only in our mid to late 20s.
Today I suddenly wondered if being married means one has to act adult and can no longer some playfulness and childishness? -
well, being married means a pile of new responsibilities..
but then, being fun-loving doesn't mean you are irresponsible right?

one day, maybe it'll actually happen to me -

I wonder if we rush into things by getting married so young. Sometimes I don't even know if I was ready to get married.. -
It is just like NS.
You have go through whether you are ready or not.
As for marriage, I suggest u read up and share with your friends.
It is hard work and a long journey.
Hope u can get your happiness with your partner. -

i've seen a few, who rush into marriage just to move out of the house.. it's almost that way here in singapore... -

Erhmm I'm pretty much how I am and I don't suddenly 'act adult' I still have my share of fun and do what I like to do despite having to fulfill the additional responsibilities I have.
I think the change will really come when you have kids? -

Yeah as of right now besides living together and having more chores to do it's still kinda like dating. They say having a kid will enhance their marriage woh... it's like the couple became so bland and got nothing to say so need a kid, so that they have something common to talk about, or prolong the marriage? I'm not sure, but that seems to be implied. -
i feel having a child for a motive other than because "we would want to love the child" is a recipe for disaster...
and the biggest mistake to "saving a marriage" -
It can go the opposite direction as well. My uncle used to be rather fierce and strict before marriage. Oooooh, I must have done it a bit late then. I got married at 32 or 33 (can't remember liow and too lazy to calculate). Was born in 1966 and got married in 1999. And I'm still very childish leh....
I don't think being a grad has much to do with marital age. I'm a grad too and my ex-classmates were married anywhere from early 20's to never.
However, I do notice that there are many eligible ones around who are not married now. My neighbours are perfect examples - some VERY attractive, well to do, good social etiquette, no BO....yet single. Probably by choice.
Anyway, for those who are married or not - there are always reasons for things to happen a way. Whats worse than being unmarried is being married to the wrong person (not speaking from experience) - so take your time and decide carefully. -
I got married in my late 20s too, and don't know leh... dont feel anything weird about the age. Though I think guys (following the common scenario where the guy is a couple of years older than the girl).. the guy would probably be about 30 plus plus.
Living together and chores can be .... a learning experience, and well, as they say.. great housemates can become good friends but good friends dont necessarily make great housemates. Sometimes the habits and lifestyle that we build up in the couple of decades before our marriage can be clashing and... to accommodate someone else is a chore in itself.
As for kids I think any child would like fun loving parents! And like someone else said, funloving doesn't mean irresponsible or immature 
Would be great if can be all of the above. -

I know a couple in their 40s with no children by choice as both of them are workaholics!
Another couple in their 30s. no kids, they feel that children will just spoil what they have at the moment, which is up on the bike whenever they feel like it, late nights late mornings and etc. -
The general concensus of singaporean is that you must marry young or get married.
That is not really necessary.
It is not NS where it is compulsory.
You get married when you have some one that is willing to build the rest of the life with you.
Lots of couple rushed into marriage due to the wrong reason.
That is why we have so many case of divorce nowadays.
They did not communicate well to determine whether marriage is suitable or they are not prepared to live their life with another person. -
lots of couples spend so much time preparing for their wedding day, they forget to prepare for their marriage

A fortune teller told me that I'll have my first kid at 39...so if he's right I guess it means I'm getting married late(or will it be just a one night case getting pregnant?
). I do hope my wife will not be the same age though, having a kid at that age has high probability of learning disorders like dyslexia.
