HOLLAND V star Xie Shaoguang has seen the light.
Shaoguang plans to leave Singapore for a simple, spiritual life in Johor Bahru.
The 43-year-old actor will retire from showbusiness after his contract with MediaCorp expires in September next year, reports Lianhe Wanbao.
He then plans to leave Singapore for a simple, spiritual life in Johor Baru.
There, he will devote his time to 'spiritual studies' and charity work like operating homes for abandoned animals, he tells the daily.
He and his friends have set up a home - where they have taken in more than 200 stray dogs and 100 stray cats - and are planning to build a second one.
Will the award-winning actor turn to monkhood one day?

a simple life is sometimes a good life.. simple needs, simple wants... the best things in life are simple things sometimes....
i have to admit i don't watch much local tv, but looks like he was a good actor huh? i remember he portrayed a retard in one of the series and won and award or something...
he'll be missed by local tv fans but hey! he'll be happier and that's good.. for happiness is in such short supply in the world.. anyone who finds joy, is a reason for rejoicing -
Most them will make a comeback someday from their retirement.

yea he is a good actor. I used to watch that show where he acted like a "retard" after an accident...is the title of that drama, "Stand By Me" ? One of the best Mediacorp dramas I have ever watched (dunno if that time is still TCS or Mediacorp). but all the best in his new life!
