Yes! Give us 24. I mean the happening TV drama now showing in the States, Hong Kong and UK... 24!

I have been watching the DVD that my friend bought from overseas. Oh boy oh boy. It's cool. I hate violent show. But ever since I laid my eyes on episode 1, I have been hooked onto it. Not because I have changed my taste and started to like this show, but every episode will make you want to see what's happening next.
It is called 24 because the show happens in real time. Every episode tells about what is going on within 1 hour. Yes, 1 episode is 1 hour of the story. And 1 season is 1 day of the story. You may be wondering what the hell can happen in such a short time. Well, a few stories that are inter related happen concurrently.
For example.....
Jack Bauer (the hero) works as a govt agent who has been assigned to protect the Senator who is going to be the next president. A group of terrorists wants to kill this Senator (I think because he's black). So in order to use Jack to achieve their mission, the terrorists kidnapped Jack's wife & daughter.
So every few minutes the story will feature Jack's story at work, the Senator's story, and the story of Jack's wife & daughter being kidnapped. On top of that, you have to figure out who are the traitors among the govt agents. Is it Jack's ex girlfriend Nina Myer (whom he was seeing while he was separated from his wife briefly)? Is it Nina's present boyfriend?
I'm only half way through Season 1. I'm addicted to it. OMG! I've never been so hooked on a TV drama, not even when I was a fan of Ally McBeal! -

they showed it!
i think the free-to-air channels are quicker than the cable channels in this series... coz i remember watching one episode and then noticing it being shown on cable a couple of months later...
i think my aunt is getting the DVDs... coz my cousin works in the US

I know HK one (the TVB English channel) already showing Season 2, where Kimberly Bauer has grown up and joined her father's organisation -- The CTU. -
Last night couldn't sleep....
Made two mistakes.....
1 ) Continued watching 24 DVD and made it more difficult for me to sleep after that cuz it was too exciting.
2 ) Read the synopsis of the next two episodes from the website. -
yup... they showed... late nights...
i remember coz i don't get cable in my room and i was watching it... (edited so as not to give the plot away)
just to say that they showed it... cool series!

I finished watching Season 1. OMG! The plot was excellent!
You have to watch all the way to the last episode to find out who the traitor is.
Now I am waiting for my friend to bring in Season 2 from the States.
Why can't our local producers produce such drama? -
once in a while, the US writers come up with gems...
here, we don't have a critical mass of writers and the same writers have to keep writing to satisfy the masses... which demand the same things over and over again...

I'm so disappointed that nobody in here (Singapore) talks about 24. It's the best drama, ever!
