80s and 90s mediacorp dramas are good, after 2000s start to decline.
My friend in mediacorp told me the reason is because 80s and 90s dramas were directed by veteran HK directors, but they started to retire in 2000s and local new bird directors took over and the quality declined.

which 2 serials?
Well those local drama pioneers tat came from Hong Kong did led SBC to its golden era in TV drama production.
But I've to put it, back then there's a lot of storyline to use - urban or kampong, police/ civil defence/ military... it's new afterall.

chow sing chi also no.
they r just a bunch pompous showgirls and boys feigning to be actor n actress
I agreed like li nan xing - Shuai tian zi zun. Wah had his own appeal. I love number one and 2. But number 3 appear to be extragged and a bit gay.
Actually when TCS or Mediacorp just start, I still remember that some of the TV programme main characters role already are mixed with overseas especially HK actor or actress and by that time Singapore drama is hardly dominated by Singapore actors and actress. Like 万梓良, 曾江,刘 and even 赵文 etc. However I think due to budget limit or the need to expose to more global programme, Mediacorp rather bring in more foreigner drama show from Taiwan and Korea. And focus just produced 1 drama at one time slot (I remembered a few years ago 7p.m and 9 p.m used to have 2 local drama.)I guess the decline of local show is possible due to the fact that the other glass is greener.
Mediacocks impossible to produce tv dramas as good as TVB........
our pioneer actors and actresses have grown old and nobody, I mean nobody are ready to replace them. tell me which young starlets are good enough to replace xiang yun, huang wen yong or even li nanxing?
I like Li Nan Xing.
Why mediacorp doesn't train the younger actors properly like the older batch?
All act like wood leh.
I like Jesseca Liu :)
Why sg cannot make it?no good scripts and acting talent like this
Cos we have so many woods in the newer generation.
