Michael Clarke Duncan has joined the new Street fighter sequel legend of Chun Li.
The Green Mile actor will play the enormous boxer Balrog in the latest big screen version of the classic console game. He will join Smallville's Kristin Kreuk and American Pie's Chris Klein. Kreuk will play Chun Li, while Klein will play Nash, an old war buddy of fellow street fighter Guile.
Moon Bloodgood, Black Eyed Peas Taboo, Singapore's Edmund Chen and Hong Kong action star Cheng Pei Pei round out the cast. The actor playing the main villain Bison has yet to be named.
The plot of the action film is being kept under wraps (not that the game had much plot), but it marks the second time the computer game has tried to start a film franchise following the 1994 flop, which starred Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raul Julia and Kylie Minogue.
Romeo Must Die director Andrzej Bartkowiak will helm the movie, from a script by Justin Marks. Filming will begin in March.
The original Street Fighter game was first released in the arcades in 1987, and has spawned several sequels and spin offs. Street Fighter IV will be released on games consoles later this year.
