I think that if you watch Just Follow Law on its own, it might not have been obnoxious. It so happened I was on a coach to KL and the driver played two movies.
The first one was a Derek Yee's movie staring Daniel Wu as an under cover cop with Andy Lau as a well connected drugs producer (as opposed to low class drug dealers), Protege.
When you put "Just Follow Law" and "Protege" side by side, it made "Just Follow Law" look like a secondary school production. -
Assuming his acting,the role ,the movie and all is number one....his name is still a no can do.The only person I know who made it big with an awkward name is Dick Van Dyke.

the golden horse awards is a taiwan movie awards ceremony. gurmit singh didn't speak chinese at all in the movie, i wonder how he got nominated?

Years back when she was nominated best newcomer, I can never forget her angry expression when Cecilia Cheung name was announced. Fann was with her green eyes watching Cecilia gracefully walked past her and up to the stage. It was all shown on National TV. -

It is just like any other awards in the world.
The nomination is given cos the local movie industry is in serious slump and they must be looking for a cash-rich tree corp to sponsor the making of some of their movie.
So, unless Mr Kwok and Mr Leung decided to give it a miss, Mr Singh may have a chance of winning.
This time, Jacky will definitely go up on stage to suan the organiser for ill-treating him last year. -
So how will Gurmit's name be pronounced in Chinese at the Awards?
"Ge mi xing" or "guo mi xing"? -
