Exclusive Interview: AVI ARAD REVEALS THAT SPIDER-MAN 3 HAS A FOURTH VILLAIN
Producer talks Venom, Sandman, Green Goblin and who else?
The day before Avi Arad and Marvel announced that he was becoming an independent producer for them, iF MAGAZINE caught up with Arad and cornered him on details about the currently filming SPIDER-MAN 3 movie. iF was able to confirm what we had already heard from undisclosed sources that there is indeed a FOURTH as of yet unnamed villain in the Spidey flick!
iF MAGAZINE: What is the reason for the costume change in SPIDER-MAN 3?
AVI ARAD: We still have the red costume. We have both, which is the art of metaphors.
iF: Why not the black costume from the comic with the big white spider?
ARAD: We reserved the white spider for something else.
iF: Have you and Sam Raimi talked about films beyond SPIDER-MAN 3?
ARAD: All we care about at the moment is doing a masterful number 3.
iF: There are four villains this time, Venom, Sandman, and Green Goblin and when is the fourth going to be revealed?
ARAD: Right we have four villains. Pretty soon [weÂ’ll reveal the fourth villain] I believe. Maybe around Comic Con weÂ’ll reveal something and the madness will begin.

That has got to be the best kept secret until NOW! Hahaha.
Too much villains not good, might dilute the storyline. -

Four villians = More action scenes....Cool Spidey to the rescue... -
I think they're overdoing it.
They're already putting in Sandman, Venom, and Green Goblin Jr.
Then there's also the saga of the black alien costume as well as a love triangle involving Gwen Stacy.
How the heck are they gonna fit all of that in - plus a fourth villain - within a two-hour movie?
The strength of the Spider-Man I and II movies comes from the excellent character development of Peter Parker and the villains (Green Goblin and Doc Ock). With four villains, I doubt there will be much room for character development. -
